Veterinary Technician - Dept. of Veterinary Medicine

Qualification Requirements:  Bachelor degree from a recognized School of Veterinary Technology Science or certificate of Veterinary Para-technologist with a minimum of four-year experience in the field of animal research.  Enthusiasm for laboratory animal medicine and a strong orientation toward teamwork is a must.  American Association of laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) technician or technologist certification is preferred.

 Basic Function Position:  The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Clinical Veterinarian, a veterinarian-on-duty or the Veterinary-Care Section Supervisor in the absence of the veterinarian.  The veterinary technician will perform and/or assist in all veterinary procedures required to maintain the USAMC-AFRIMS laboratory animal colonies, comprised of up to 30,000 animals.  The veterinary technician will assist Study Directors (for GLP study) and work with other veterinary technicians to accomplish all day-to-day animal clinical and research activities.

Medical Research Scientist (Epidemiology/Clinical Trials) - Dept. of Immunology

Qualifications: The Department of Immunology and Medicine requires M.D. with experience in the development of clinical scientific protocols in malaria. This position requires subject matter expertise in the state-of-the-art use of medications for the treatment and prevention of malaria as well as a detailed knowledge on the topic of malaria drug resistence.
